About

About me:

My name is Caleb Eidsvik and I founded Rock Bottom Nutrition Consulting in 2022 with the goal to provide independent ruminant nutrition consulting to producers across the Canadian Prairies. My background is Beef Cow/Calf production including years of 4H in Alberta.

Through my education and profession I have gained experience in Feedlot and Dairy settings. What I offer to potential clients is understanding and appreciation of the work that goes into raising animals. I have held positions across the agriculture sector, from Class 1 trucking to cleaning barns, from seeding to calving. I believe the best way I can serve the Canadian Ruminant Producers is to use my nutrition expertise to do what is best for the animal, and to dedicate to learning and improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (2018): University of Saskatchewan
  • Master of Science in Animal Science - Ruminant Nutrition (2022): University of Saskatchewan

Why have a website?

I want to provide producers access to ruminant nutrition consulting services. I also want to provide an avenue where producers can freely access information in the form of research articles.

Visit the "Articles" tab to view articles that are Open Access (do not require a fee to read).

Visit the "Rock Bottom Breakdowns" tab where I post more in-depth summaries of research articles.

Business Ethic:

I believe in a business model that prioritizes the relationship and needs of producers by communicating and working 1-on-1. My Ruminant Nutrition education and experience working on farms and ranches of large scale, as well as experience working for a large feed company, provide me a great launch point to not only bring sound technical nutrition support but also to continue learning through professional relationship with clients. Being independent, I am not tied to any feed producing company and receive no kick-backs. I am more than happy to work with any company that clients have relationship with.

Let's learn and grow together.
